I used my mandoline as more than just a cheese grater tonight for the first time since 2005, when I had to drive my bleeding self to the hospital after gouging a chunk out of my index finger while turning baby zucchinis into matchsticks. Tonight, I finally tried it again, but this time, using a special glove designed to, um, protect the user from their own stupid cooking practices. I can report that I am, indeed, unscathed this time around.
