My friend Shane is currently under treatment for cancer, and friends of his here in the Bay Area threw a fundraiser in his honor on Saturday night. Shane and Alex, his partner and one of my oldest, dearest friends, had friends over to their New York City apartment concurrently, and we connected the bicoastal gatherings via Skype. Live from New York, here are Shane and Alex, chatting with one of the guests on my side of the country.
