The Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland has a Chapel of the Seasons, which is decorated differently depending on the time of year. Right now, there is a Lenten tree, which encouraged parishioners to take small paper flowers from a basket at its base and affix them to the tree if they’ve done a good work or deed as part of their Lenten preparation. This morning, the basket was empty and the tree was full.
