Herr Doktor Professor

After a long travel day from Oakland to Staunton, VA, I went out for dinner at Zynodoa, where my former music professor, Dr. Robert T. Allen, met me for a bite to eat. After dinner, we retired to his house so he could show off his renovation work and fix me a cocktail. Bob remains, to this day, one of my most favorite professors, and the evening was filled with laughter, nostalgia, and even a few tears. I was especially glad to have some time to hang out with him before my family and friends and his wife (who was celebrating her 20th reunion) and her friends arrived in town.
