On Saturday, March 21, four Oakland Police Department officers were shot by a single suspect during and after a traffic stop. Three were killed that day, and the fourth died Sunday morning. Mourners have been leaving flowers, notes, stuffed animals and candles outside the doors of the Oakland Police Department Headquarters in memory of Sergeants Ervin Romans, Daniel Sakai and Mark Dunakin and Officer John Hege.
