I came home tonight and found the tulips I bought last week—publicly for my team retreat, but privately as my own Valentine to myself—had begun to shed their petals fast and furiously.

  1. This is lovely. Buying oneself flowers is always a good thing:-)

  2. Thanks, Tara! I wholeheartedly agree…it always guarantees you end up with exactly the kind and color of flowers you most want, too! :-)

  3. Sweet. Nice glassware & cloth, too. :D

  4. Al_Pal, thanks! The vase is from my Mom, the candleholder is from a dear friend who lives in Sweden, and the tablecloth came with the table when a friend gave it to me back in Iowa City when I was newly single and kitchen-tableless. It was her grandmother’s table and chairs that she recovered with the same fabric as the tablecloth. But…you had to know I have a story for everything, right? ;-)
