During a January 30 protest about the BART shooting, the guy in the backward baseball cap approached some of the protestors, yelling at them about the fact that the Oakland Police Department didn’t have anything to do with the shooting. Tempers flared, and eventually the police had to move closer to break it up. I overheard some people in the crowd warning the protestors arguing with the man that he might be working for the police to stir up trouble.

From what I have seen of the OPD, I would be reallllly surprised if they were really interested in having more crap to deal with; why stir it up?

Anita, I have to agree with you — I really don’t think the OPD (who aren’t even the agency at fault in this incident) care about spending additional time riling up the crowd…but it was interesting that folks jumped to that conclusion so quickly. And yes — that background change is one of my favorite things about this WordPress theme — I love it!
